Highly intense rides that can't be found at any other SoCal theme park make Magic Mountain a must-do for local adrenaline junkies. Opening several cutting-edge thrill rides over the last few years, the sprawling hillside amusement park has been dubbed the "Xtreme Park.”
The X is a boundary-pushing coaster with 360-degree rotating seats. The high-flying boomerang ride Deja Vu, sends riders flying forward and backward on a looping track. Goliath Jr. is a much gentler, scaled-down version of the original Goliath, which has a dizzying 255-foot drop that sends you through a smoke-filled tunnel at 85 mph. Old-fashioned carny rides and game booths featuring Warner Bros. characters offer salvation for those too young to hit the dreaded height line. Take the tykes for a whirl on Yosemite Sam's plane ride, or let them have at it in the Looney Tunes Lodge ball zone.
